Laser Levels

Laser Levels are a 1-man operation used to measure the level using horizontal / vertical lasers within industries of surveying and construction. Laser Levels make faster work of any job while eliminating costly errors and downtime. Once Laser Levels were a “nice to have” piece of equipment but now they’re a competitive “must have” to get the job done right, first time, as quickly as possible.

Survey Systems Ltd has a wide of range of laser levels and laser level kits that include level detectors for Sale and Hire. In addition, Survey Systems Ltd offer a Calibration and Repair service for all makes of Laser Levels which can be collected from anywhere in the UK.

Laser levels are generally split into four categories:

As main dealers for many of the leading Laser Level manufacturers including Leica, Pentax and Pacific Laser Systems (PLS), Survey Systems Ltd can supply an instrument to suit any job.

Exterior Laser Levels

Often referred to as:

Mostly used on construction sites as a 1-man operation as an alternative to the traditional automatic / dumpy level 2-man team.

Featured product:

This self-leveling visible horizontal beam Laser Level includes a re-chargeable Ni-Cad battery and anti-drift feature to indicate when unit is moved.  With a 610m working diameter range with detector and accuracy 1.6mm over 30m and 2-year manufacturers warranty.  LD-18N Detector & Bracket included.

Other examples of Laser Levels available in this range include the Leica Rugby 100, Leica Rugby 100LR, Pentax PLP-190 and Pentax PLP-200

Interior Laser Levels

Often referred to as:

Although some instruments are used on construction for external use like the exterior laser levels, the “Visible beam” laser is most commonly used for producing a laser line for the construction of false ceilings used in their Horizontal mode, or dry / false / stud wall partitioning when used vertically.

Featured product:

Ideal for interior jobs, the Pentax PLP-190 is a self-leveling horizontal & vertical visible beam laser level with vertical plumb. The unit features variable rotation speed and has a 610-meter diameter range when used with the LD-18N detector . It comes with a wall mount, a magnetic target, rechargeable battery pack and charger, and a hard case.  The LD-18N detector is available to purchase separately.

Other examples of Interior Laser Levels available in this range include the Leica Rugby 200 & Pentax PLP-140 Budget Laser Level.

Grade Laser Level

Often referred to as:

Grade laser levels can either come in single grade laser level or dual grade laser levels. The single grade laser level can be set to either rotate on a level (0 gradient plane), or set to a gradient in a single axis of 10-25% dependant on the model.  Examples of these are the Mikrofyn ML-11x & Leica Rugby 300SG which come with laser level line detectors.

The Dual Grade laser levels will have the same features as the single grade laser level, but with the added benefit of setting the gradient in both planes - the x & y-axis.  Examples of these are Pentax Profile PLP-200, Mikrofyn ML-14i & Leica Rugby 400DG, which include a laser detector staff clamp.

Multi Point & Cross Line Lasers

A Multi Point Laser Level emits a series of laser dots, usually 3 to 5, from the instrument set at 90o  to each other.  Within this category the products are from Fisco and Pacific Laser Systems (PLS). The range includes Fisco Multi-Point Laser and PLS 5X.

A Cross line laser level will project a series of laser lines crossing each other horizontally and vertically at 90o angles, as its name implies.  The PLS2 projects bright, crisp beams accurate to 3mm at 10m and brighter than most rotary lasers at a fraction of the cost.
